The Alberta Fire Code requires all tank installations be designed by a professional engineer licensed to practice in Alberta. Permit applications will not be approved unless accompanied by engineered drawings that demonstrate the tank installation meets Alberta Fire Code requirements.

The PTMAA webpage contains a list of engineering firms familiar with tank installations and the requirements of the Alberta Fire Code. Although any professional engineer in Alberta may certify the drawings, we recommend using one familiar with Fire Code regulations.
